Total reward
The benefits of working with HBOS don't end with a salary, instead all our benefits come together to form a package we call Total Reward. Designed to make you better off in lots of different ways, it's based on three key areas:

- Flexibility – our Flex package gives you the option of tailoring your benefits package to suit your individual needs.
- Choice – when you receive a bonus, we'll let you choose from cash, shares or a combination of both.
Salary
We pay everybody a good basic salary and review pay ranges every year to ensure we stay competitive. You'll have an annual performance review with the opportunity to increase your basic salary earnings.
Bonus
On top of your salary, you can earn an additional bonus that is broken into percentages based on individual and company performance. You can choose to take your bonus as cash, shares, or even as a mix of the two.
Sharekicker
Once a year, you can buy HBOS shares out of your performance bonus. For every two you purchase, we'll give you one free, if you hold them in trust for three years.
Sharesave
Once a year you can join this monthly savings plan that lets you buy HBOS shares in the future at a discounted price. You save money directly out of your monthly pay over the course of three, five or seven years. At the end of your savings period, you'll receive your savings plus a tax–free bonus that you can use to buy HBOS shares at the discounted price or alternatively you can choose to take the cash.
Sharebuy
This lets you buy HBOS shares from your gross salary, giving you big tax and NI savings if you keep the shares for five years. You can either make a monthly or a one–off investment, up to £1,500 or 10% of your salary (whichever is lower) each tax year. Sharebuy is really flexible too – join when you want and change your investment any time.
Free Shares
We award Free Shares annually on a discretionary basis depending on HBOS's performance. You can receive between £500 and £2,100 of Free Shares based on a percentage of your salary.
Holidays
You'll also enjoy a generous holiday entitlement on top of Bank Holidays. This allowance will increase over time and depends on your role.
Flex
This is HBOS's exclusive benefits package offering great discounts and big tax and National Insurance savings on a wide range of benefits including gyms, shopping vouchers, mobile phones, bikes, various health & wellbeing services and more! The great thing about Flex is you choose benefits to suit your lifestyle and needs each year. For example, you can exchange some of your salary for a new mobile phone, or you might want to give up some of your benefits in return for extra cash.

Pension
When you join, you'll automatically become a member of the HBOS Group Money Purchase Scheme, unless you choose not to. As a member of the Scheme, you'll pay contributions into your individual retirement account, and we'll make additional contributions on your behalf.
